Anyone have info on John M. Pope, b. c.1828, England
died after 1 Jun 1880 in NY - married to Margaret (poss. McCreery?), b. c.1844, Ireland, died after 1 Jun 1880 in NY.
1880 US Census lists him as a carpenter living in New York City where most of the family died in about 1880 - flu or something. His daughter Emma Louise Pope (1875-1958) survived and was adopted by Vignes family of New Brunswick, NJ. And I have found the descendants of another daughter Elizabeth Jane Pope (1869-1912)died in Bridgeport, CT.Any information on any other (if) surviving siblings - or info on the family prior to their immigration to US would be greatly appreciated. Their other children, according to 1880 Census: Maria F. Pope, b. c.1873, NY; Arthur E. Pope, b. c.1877, NY; Albert C. Pope, b. c.1879, NY.
