Thanks for getting back to me so quickly. I had the 1850 census, from my information Elizabeth was John's first wife, He is on the 1860 census in Butler Co. Ind. with his second wife at age 36. After looking at my information again, it looks like Alfred was actually born in North Cardin Co. OH. I thought it was North Carolina. He is not on the 1860 census with John, so he must have passed away by then. I was hoping someone would have an 1840 census, I have no idea where he lived at that time. I know that Joseph (John and Elizabeth's son) was born in Jackson Co. OH, maybe Alfred lived there near them.
Thanks again for anything you find.
