Hi, you mean 5th marriage don't you. Wiley Mobley Pope was a baptist minister. Some of his descendants did not like him. I know he didn't die until 1883 in Randolph Co., GA. but I never searched for his estate records which would name all children. I do know he had five children was mar. first to Mary Stewart, 2nd Mary Rowland, 3rd Elizabeth Livingston, they relocated to TN where Eliz. had dau. and died at childbirth. She ask that her dau be carried back to GA. Mary Jane was four days old when Wiley carried her back to GA. to Elizabeth's family. Mary Jane b. 8-23-1834. He mar. 4th Martha Williams Bryan of Washington Co., She died 4-22-1845, had five young children her death. The contract date would be correct for another marriage. I always believed Wiley mar for the fifth time but never searched that much, since he didn't die until 1883. All of his wives died young.
I do know that one of the children stated in a book (Sorry I did not copy since this was not my direct line and that time I wasn't trying to complete so much Pope history.) but this person had written in her history that Wiley Pope mar. their grandmother?? not sure and he tried to take property from them. This was in a book on Washington Co. I believe. Wished I had copied. That is why I alway though he mar. again and know he would not have stayed single that long. Maybe if you search in Randolp Co., for some estate records or will you might find your correct info. It is entirely possible he had children by her also. Let me know what you find. I'll check also.
Marie
