Thanks for the information Bob. I'm still puzzled by these three wives of Jacob Pope: Mourning (Joyner), Tabitha (unknown last name) and Jane (nee Williams) Braswell. If all these children you list, Sampson, Elijah, Pilgrim and Mourning, Rebecca and Mary are all from the Mourning Joyner/Jacob Pope marriage, were there any others from the other two marriages? I had it split up this way: Jacob/Joyner marriage and children: Daughter Pope m. Jeremiah Hilliard Mourning Pope m. Thomas, Pridgeon, Wimberely Sampson m. Susannah Thomas Elisha m. ? Then I had Rebecca who married a man named Sykes from Jacob/Tabitha marriage. Finally I had Mary and Pilgrim from the Jacob/Braswell marriage. Pilgrim marrying Unknown and producing Elijah and a Nathaniel who married Elizabeth Unknown. Of course, I could be all wrong. So I'll take a look at what you've got, if you can give me sources that can check out. Do you have any dates for these three marriages? I have Jacob/Joyner as 1718 and Jacob/Williams-Braswell as 1738. Do have anything more on this that I don't have? For instance, if we could find the birtdates for the children, it might make it clearer which mother they came from? Where are your sources? Do you have any birth/bible records or what are you relying on for the verification that these were the correct children of that marriage? Not trying to nit-pick here, but want to be sure that I am attributing the correct children to the correct mother. Thanks. Gerri
