I have some information on James M. Pope and his decendents. James M. Pope was the brother of Abel (Abram) Pope b. 1810 Sampson County, NC (my Pope side of the family).

James M. was b. June 22, 1812, d. Apr. 6, 1882, and is buried in Union Grove Cemetery, near Rock Run, Cherokee County, AL.

James M. fathered fifteen children by two wives. William Wesley was the second child, b. June 22, 1840, (where unknown) d. Aug. 8, 1912 (where unknown). William Wesley's mother was Mariah Gowens, b. Sept. 2, 1817, d. Jan. 12, 1845 in DeKalb County, AL. (Abel married one of her sisters, Rhoda)

Hetha E. Longshore Brannon was b. Sept. 27, 1842, d. June 25, 1916. I do not know where either William or Hetha are buried. Since his mother died in DeKalb County, AL, it might be worth looking there.

Unfortunately, I do not have any information on Luella.

I hope this helps you in your search.

If you happen to have any information on any of the above, I would greatly appreciate it if you would share. Please e-mail me at margo122050@cs.com.

Thank you and good luck in your search!
Margo
