I have a Jacob Poorman, Blacksmith b 1748 Mount Joy, Lancaster Co, PA whose wife was Elizabeth (surname unknown) they both died in Westmoreland Co, PA.Their dau, Mary Ellen Poorman Drury was my great great grandmother.
I am trying to prove with records that this Jacob is the son of the Peter Poorman, wife Elizabeth Werner who left Lancaster Co, PA and moved to Unity Twp, Westmoreland Co, PA.
Yes, this Elizabeth is the sister to your Maria Werner who married the brother of Peter, named Jacob.
I am also wanting to send the record to DAR.I have not found anyone who had joined on the service of this Peter who was called Junior when he lived in Lancaster Co, PA.
The local registrar for DAR told me someone had joined on what the Peter Poorman, Senior did.He provided some kind of service to the army during the Rev War.Do you know anything about that?
I have a hard time proving that my Peter (the younger) b 1747, was the same as the one who lived in Lancaster with his father.
I think that after Peter, the elder died 11 Aug 1792 near what is now Hershey, PAsome of the children moved away.
There is a Jacob in the nearby county that I think is yours on the census.
If you want my notes, please email me diretly.I have lots to share.
