Many people have asked me this. The simple answer is No. As, I am aware that "preponderance of evidence" is not sufficient proof.I am attaching here the footnotes for Peter, Jr.You will notice that when he removes to Westmoreland Co, PA after the death of his father and the death of his wife's father, Jacob Werner, he becomes Senior, on the legal records of Westmoreland Co, PA. and his son becomes the Jr.I am descended from Jacob Poorman, son of Peter Poorman b 1747.
I would like to have a copy of your Rev Ward records for Peter Poorman b 1747.What I have is a photocopy of the PA State Archives microfilm showing him as a minuteman in Londonderry Township of old Lancaster Co, PA. I hope your record is more precise?
Notes for Peter:

!RESIDENCE: Egle PA Notes 1st and 2nd Section, Vol II, p 55; 1778; Londonderry Twp, Dauphin C, PA, Inhabitant, Peter Poorman.
NOTE:Look for deeds in Dauphin C., PA, Londonderry Twp between 1779 and 1809. Look for land sales in 1782, or 1792-1794 for Peter Jr. in Lancaster Co from inheritance. Also look in Cumberland and Franklin Co, PA.
!LAND RECORD-CHILDREN: Westmoreland Co, PA; LAND RECORD ABSTRACTS; Recorder of Deeds office Vol 11, p 126, date 1815; deed Peter Poorman, blacksmith & Wife Elizabeth [WERNER] of Unity Twp to Jacob Poorman, son of Peter; adjoining Pool, Bossart, Michael Poorman; Jacob Poorman, part of tract from Rob & Taylor, wife Ann 1805. Notice that there are several deeds from Peter Poorman, Sr.(of Westmoreland Co) to family: 12-428-1817 to John Welters, 152 acres; 12-464-1817 to Daniel Bossart, 90 ac land Mt. Pleasant Twp (of original Philip Smith land patent)

!MIGRATION: The date of 1804-1808 is estimated for the move of Peter and family to Westmoreland Co, PA because: His family first appears on the census of Westmoreland Co., in 1810.He appears in Land records earlier. His son/brother/cousin Daniel appears on Tax List 1808 in Hempfield Twp, Westmoreland Co, PA.Peter's dau Elizabeth was b 14 Jun 1809 in Unity twp, Westmoreland Co, PA. A biography of Jesse K. Poorman in CYCLOPEDIA, History of Westmoreland Co, PA, pub 1897?, tells that Jesse's grand-father Michael jr. came to the county when he was an infant with his father Michael Sr, about 1804-6 from an "eastern PA county". Michael Sr. has been linked as a son of Peter based on the wills and land records of the neighboring properties of the Poorman's in Unity Twp, near St. Xavier's academy in the vicinity of Youngstown Boro, as well as the church records of German Lutheran and Reformed churches in the area. Look for land records in Lancaster Co between Peter and his father Peter, Sr. about 1765-1785, or distribution of property after the death of his father 1792-1795.
!CENSUS: 1790 U. S. CENSUS: Franklin Co, PA; Formed in 1785 from Cumberland Co; Before 1750 was Lancaster Co; Peter Poorman; page 117, brother Daniel is on p 121.
!CENSUS: 1800 U. S. Census, Franklin Co, PA; Peter Poorman; page 893: males 10101- females 02100-00. Of the 5 Peters on the PA census for 1800, this one should be Peter Jr. as he is over 45 and has 2 sons. The others are all under the age of 45 and could not have served in the Rev. War.
