I read your post with interest as Henri-Jean Poulin (John Pooler) and Sophie Lacombe are my great-great grandparents. To the best of my knowledge, they had a child Charles, my great-grandfather, in 1861 and a child John in 1863. Here's what I have.

Church marriage w/ brother Francois-Xavier (aka Ephrem) on 12/01/1841 at St. Francois, Beauce, PQ. In Waterville, was known as John Pooler. He and his brother were the 7th/8th Canadians to settle in Waterville per research by Robert Chenard of Waterville.
