Realize that I have tried to see about comparing our colorful ftdna matrix, Poole DNA Project to the Pool, Pole, Poole men in this same YClan Database, Oxford Ancestors--and had no luck. The simplest way to accomplish it would be for you to buy a kit from Oxford Ancestors, and then have access to the info pertaining to others who have tested/matches...Could this be of interest to you?
The chance to say hello and write with these matches would be important to all the Pooles/Pools, given that then you may meet people that match with any of our project's colored groupings.
Please reply here to this message thread because I do have great interest in learning about the matches in the Oxford Ancestors YClan.Oxford Ancestors was kind enough to recently write me on this very topic--so I am hopeful that someone in R1b, plum group, among others can step up to the plate and test abroad (and share their results with all of us).Thanks.
Be sure you note how their 15 markers (above) compare to ftdna’s 12/25/37/67 markers. Some of their older kits may have say 10 markers. But the point here is not simply the science--but the name, phone number, address, heritage clues etc. Oxford also offers other tests and reports so...
Ysearch has already given you a clue--I presume you wrote your match (a few times?) via ysearch procedures, an ftdna database. What happened...i.e. Did you prepare an update to your 2010 research paper yet, and perhaps send your match a portion of this? Did you write the lab, ftdna and find out if they could send an introduction for you?How tight is this R1b match--and what do your R1b project administrators think of it? Should I presume you have been doing some additional haplogroup tests to refine your own results...Various R1b projects are very active. Please forgive errors here-perhaps we should chat on the phone-does your data plan let you phone the states?
