From SPARTANBURG COUNTY/DISTRICT SOUTH CAROLINA, DEED ABSTRACTS BOOKS (1752--1827) by Albert Bruce Pruitt.

Page 557: p. 307308 Aug. 2, 1817 Richard Vandike (Spartanburgh) to son John Vandike; power of attorney to recover from Samuel Long, J. M. Lewis, and Peter R. Booker esqs a bond given by Samuel Long for $100 or 100 pounds of merchantable indigo; note was left in hands of Maj. J. M. Lewis for collection. Witness Laban P. Poole and James Hammett. Signed Richard Vandike. Wit. oath Aug 4, 1817. James Hammett to Henry Turner. Rec. Aug. 4, 1817.

***Laban P. Poole migrated to Alabama, then Mississippi. I believe James W. Poole, Laban L. Poole, and William W. (Preston) Poole, in 1850 Greene County, Arkansas, were his sons.

Pine Bluff, Arkansas
