I received a page from the 1860 Marshall County Census. It lists Phillip and Margret Pontius with a 9 year old named Anna, a 7 year old named Leah and a 1 year old named Elizabeth.
Another document written names Joseph Wesly Hittle as marrying Anna Pontius Daughter of Philip and Margret (Grube) Pontius.
In 1862 , they had a son Philip G. Also at least 1 more daughter, Margaret S., born 25 May 1868, and she married Anthony A Smith.
I had the opportunity to walk the Poplar Grove cemetery located on In. Rt 10 between Argos and Culver On 11-22-03. There I found Phillip and Margret's and also Philip G. Pontius's Headstone. spelling = Phillip on the father and Philip on the son's stone.
I have been told that after Joseph Wesley Hittle Died in 1883, Anna went on to be married 2 more times and her final resting place is Rodney Mi.
