Dear Mary,

Allan W. Eckert has several books out (look for a list at Barnes & Noble on the Internet0. Trouble is many of them are no longer in print. You might find some in paperback and some may be at the public library if you have a good one.

He writes historical narratives. Some used book stores list his writings under fiction, but he takes all his conversations straight from the historical record...and there are many.

I have found oodles about captives, etc. He writes objectively sympathizing neither with white nor Native American. He uses reaal Indian names. He also writes in chronological order with some book narratives overlapping others.
