Dear Cousin,
In the spring og 1999, I found Yann de Pontbraind. He is living is France and works for a U.S. computer company. He told me that all of the Pontbriand's in France are related to a common grandmother dating back to the 13th century and come from the Brittany region of France. He went on to say that the du Breil de Pontbriand alliance is about 1500 people in number. He stated that many members of this family use the name Pontbriand or de Pontbriand rather then the full name for the sake of commodity. He promised to send me family history information but as of this date I have not received anything. I sent him a copy of the book "The Descendants of Jean Baptiste Briand" which I wrote several years ago. He was able to make a few corrections but I have not heard from him since. I communicate with him by e-mail. Contact me for more information.....
