I believe Uncle Bill's actual name was William Monroe Houk, but I may be wrong about the Monroe part.Bonnie was a cousin of his and also lived in Fort Worth and they were very close. She was an attractive woman and dressed beautifully and taught my Aunt Faye to dress that way.She became ill and not sure why, but I think it was heart related. She later in life married a man who was a big official in the Lone Star gas company in Fort Worth and I can not remember his name. She, because of her health, was almost always at home and had to be very quiet.I don't think she had married before then.I have never had any information about how she fit in with the Ponders except I knew she was one somehow.Uncle Bill also had a cousin named Paul Parry, who was a photographer in Hollywood and worked in the movie industry.I have two pictures of Uncle Bill and Aunt Faye that he took. They look like movie stars.Uncle Bill was a veryhandsome man, tall and dark haired and brown eyes and Aunt Faye was petite, blonde and had blue eyes and had a good figure all her life. She had cancer in her lungs and for a long time went to M.D. Anderson Hospital in Houston for experimental drugs.Eventually after a long time it went into remission.Uncle Bill smoked a pipe for years and I've always wondered if she got cancer from the secondary smoke.I can still smell his cherry flavored tobacco. They both are buried in Fort Worth although she died in Pflugerville, Tx. outside of Austin. Her youngest sister lived in Round Rock near her and always took care of her and her needs. It seemed just before she died she just sort of quit wanting to live and just went to her Lord. They both were members of Hemphill Presbyterian Church in Fort Worth. He had to retire because of his diabetes. It was bad and back then they did not know so much about its care as they do now.He had what they call brittle diabetes. His mind got bad before he passed away.It was related to the diabetes. He played golf at the Colonial Country Club and I always thought that was such a big deal with the tournaments and all. That about all I know about him, except he was my favorite uncle even though he was quiet and didn't say much. They had some good friends Bud and Margaurite McKinney living in Dublin and stayed with them when they came down from Fort Worth. If you have further information on Bonnie I would love to hear it.God bless.
