Kennith Leon Ponder's (12/10/1921 - 1/15/1982) parents were John Virgil Ponder (2/20/1890 - 3/15/1964) and Sallie Agnes Lahman (8/6/1896 - 5/17/1985). They were married 5/17/1914 and a year later had Vernice Adrian (5/14/1915 - 9/9/1990).Vernice was called Vern or Vernie as a child & VA as an adult. He married Jewel Loraine Clifton (9/10/1919 - 11/8/2002) and had 3 sons. John & Sallie divorced soon after Kennith Leon was born. Sallie never remarried, however John married Tiny Myrtle Lumbert on 10/13/1928. They had 4 children... Lavena June (6/28/1934 - 3/10/1941), [a living son] (5/4/1941 - )who is married to a [living] Griffin and has 4 girls & a boy, John Wesley (1/11/1945 - 1/11/1945), [a living daughter] (6/24/1952 - ) who married a [living] Mullins and had a son & a daughter.
John Virgil's parents were James Elzey (4/4/1867 - 2/28/1918) and Malissa H Cook (1866 - 1899). They married 12/11/1882. Their children were... Zelah Bernice (10/20/1885 - 2/6/1986) who married John "Pappy Jack" Walton Chance(3/10/1881 - 2/19/1959) and had 7 daughters & 5 sons, Andrew Jackson (11/28/1887 - 11/5/1966) who married Mary Harriet Cornelia "Hattie" Smith (11/13/1891 - unknown)and had 7 sons & 7 daughters, John, Coy Simpson "Jake" (12/25/1890 - 11/5/1959) who married Odessia Iona "Ninnie" Hutto (9/11/1898 - 5/12/1980) probably in 1918 and had 3 daughters and 2 sons, Frederick Clarence (4/22/1894 - 12/18/1953) who married Susie Pierce (1898 - 1938) in about 1919 and had 2 sons and then married Lois Temple in about 1941 and had a son.
James & Malissa were divorced just after Fred was born. She did not remarry; he married Mary "Perilee" Pruitt on 2/28/1895. Their children were Beulah Clara (2/27/1896 - 7/16/1960) who married Sam Briscoe, Lorena May (1/30/1898 - 1919) who married Aubrey Pierce, Tina Lee (3/29/1901 - unknown) who married Quince Allen, Winnie Elsie (8/30/1904 - unknown) who married Walter Pierce (1900 - 2/4/1970) on 11/22/1922 and had a son & a daughter, James Everett (1/17/1908 - 1/19/1974) who married Flora Ann "Pud" (4/3/1913 - unknown) on 5/1/1929, Cecil Kenton (1/15/1910 - 4/12/1973) who married Annie Alberson (11/28/1911 - unknown), Dorothy Clyde (2/24/1912 - unknown) who married Jimmy Garrett in 1960, and Von Loree (2/9/1917 - 7/9/1968) who married Nellie Bridges then Onie Hill.
Sallie's parents were John William Henry Lahman (8/10/1870 - 1947) and Susan Elizabeth Bullard (8/30/1871 - 6/26/1955). John & Susan were married on 8/22/1889. Their children were... Richard Walter (6/17/1890 - 1/11/1960) who married Katie Townswend (4/7/1887 - 10/24/1916) in 1913 and had a daughter and Eva Lee Welch (2/1/1906 - unknown) in 1922 and had 2 sons & 2 daughters and Bessy Carter (1889 - 1930) and had a son and Sarah McKeever and then Missy Craycraft, Lewis Andrew (1/1/1892 - 6/4/1975) who married Liddie Fore (5/17/1897 - 4/13/1992) in about 1915 and had 5 sons & 4 daughters, Lizzie May (1/17/1894 - unknown) who married William Meriah Rush, Sallie, and Edgar Estes (9/7/1911 - 6/8/1986) who married Dorothy Jewel Parnell (5/16/1932 - unknown) on 12/19/1945 and had 6 sons & 3 daughters.
