searching for leads on my grandfather, charles alexander lee frazee. He told family he was born in canada, father was french, mother native american, they died when he was about 5, he was adopted by a Frazee family in Ohio, along with either a twin sister, or younger sister. They were his aunt and uncle. He then ran away at about age of 12. His fathers name he said was Pommeroie, or LaPommeroie, from northern France. Usually this was listed as pomeroy in canadian listings. the adoption may not have been by a court, and I do not know the actual birth date. The family had various dates from 1874 to 1880, but all said it was in september. the frazee's could be related through the mother, unless the uncle was a halfbrother to his father. If the mother was the relative then a sister would likely be married to a frazee.
