We're looking for more information on ELIZABETH VINA POMEROY, her brief marriage to WILLIAM FRANCES DALY, and her life after 1930 Census.
Her family line: Eltweed Pomeroy, Caleb, Samuel/Elizabeth Strickland (3),Noah/Temperance Unknown (2), Daniel, Eleazer, Otis/Loudiska Rider (1), Marshall Newton Pomeroy.
She is listed in South Dakota Births 1856-1903 as born 19 September, 1879 in Grant County, South Dakota. Her father was Marshall Newton Pomeroy, her mother was Josie Ann Stewart.
1880 US Census, Grant County, Dakota Territory. Elizabeth is 9 months old, their only child.
1900 US Census: Arco, Blaine County, Idaho. She is 20 years old, single, living with her parents and siblings: Garfield, William, Charles and Cecil. (Three siblings were born and died before 1900: Agnes Zeruah, Frank Eugene, and one other) Elizabeth's occupation: Dressmaker.
1910 US Census: Twin Falls, Twin Falls, Idaho. Elizabeth is 29 years old, still single and living with her parents and siblings Garfield and Cecil.
Her husband to be, William F Daly, was also living in Twin Falls, Idaho, age 28, a widower, living at the Baker Hotel, Occupation: blacksmith.
Idaho Marriage Record: ELIZABETH V POMEROY married WILLIAM F DALY, 27 March 1911, Jerome, Lincoln County, Idaho. Volume 2, Page 66. (Online record, BYU-Idaho-Marriages)
WWI Draft Registration Record for WILLIAM FRANCES DALY. Dated Sept 12, 1918. Elizabeth and William had divorced, and William had remarried Susan Unknown. His birthdate: 26 January, 1882. Living 1918 in Hill County, Montana. Still a self-employed blacksmith.
1920 US Census: Elizabeth Daly living with parents in Twin Falls, Twin Falls, Idaho with brother Cecil, age 20. Age 40. Divorced. Occupation: Maid. Hotel.
William and Susan Daly now living in School District 8, Choteau County, Montana. Occupation: Blacksmith Shop.
1930 US Census: Twin Falls, Twin Falls, Idaho. Elizabeth Daley. Age 50. Living alone at 344 Fourth Avenue East. Owns home, value $350. Divorced. Occupation: None.
William and Susan Daly are living in Aberdeen, Grays Harbor, Washington. William, Occupation: Blacksmith.
I have not found the dates of death for Elizabeth Vina Pomeroy Daly, and William Frances Daly. Probable date of death for Susan Daly was 1954, found in Washington State Digital Archives.
We'll appreciate any help in filling in some gaps in our information on ELIZABETH VINA POMEROY and WILLIAM FRANCES DALY. Thank you.
