Hi Lenore,
Don't know if this will help you, but I have a daughter Melinda H. aka (Blenda) Polson born to Exvira and John Thomas. I show Blenda on the the 1860 census.
There is a book by the title of "History of Wilson Co. KS and King Family" which states Melinda B. born around 1850. Unfortunatly, I do not have an author for the books as only a portion of it was sent to me. You might be able to locate it at your local library.
I am desendant of John T. Polson b. 1764 and Martha Bryan.
Marilyn
