GEORGE Polsgrove 1794-1865 Parents of:
In my collecting, posting, and analyzing information about our family on this forum and on the Polsgrove website at Freepages..., I began to ask the question ofwhy the gap between the birth of Jacob, Jr, and George. I have also suggested on this forum that Jacob, Sr,may have married a second time.
Strangely, no one from the Franklin County area, logically the people who may have known, has communicated anything about this question.
What is also strange is that hardly any descendant of either Jacob, Jr, or George, has communicated with me about anything.
I have sought info about the many Harrod and Polsgrove connections as well and still no responses. But let me screw up a birth date, birth order, parent of one or another, someone shows up.
We have a missing spouse for Henry, his first wife, but if anyone knows anything they are not sharing.
I recently deleted Harrison from the list of George's children, due to actual evidence. This leaves George with one less child than he is supposed to have according to a diary of one of his westward ho descendants. Who is missing?
ANYWAY, MY QUESTION ABOUT GEORGE'S PARENTAGE HAS BEEN ANSWERED!!!!
Mr. Kent Forbis, descendant of Harrison, besides putting me back on track about Harrison's lineage, also in his intensive hands on searching of records, found in Shelby Co., the following and sent it to me:
Source: Shelby Co. Marriage Records 1792-1833
Runnel, George & Franky Brown, m. 14 Jan. 1813- bondsman, George Palsgrove, half-brother of Franky.
WHAT???
So George's mother was a widow Brown whose name we don't know nor the name of her first husband, who (she) had married Jacob Polsgrove, Sr, as his 2nd wife.
Now we know that Jacob, Sr's 1st wife had died sometime after his birth in Virginia (Hampshire Co) 1785-1792.
Elsewhere on this forum and on my Polsgrove webpage at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~polsgrovehttp://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~polsgrove
I have placed the marriage record of the daughter named Catherine who married Nathaniel Brown.I believe that this Franky (Frances) Brown was a sister of Nathaniel as well as a half-sister of George.
Jacob, Jr, and Nathaniel and George were probably all living together in the 1810 FC Pendleton Co, KY, as it is a big family with strange numbers. Also the farm was in Polsgrove's name which is why Nathaniel never shows up there in any other discovered records.
Well, is there any descendant from George who would like to or be willing to comment on this?Did any of you always know this, or is this the first time any of you ever heard about it? Does anyone know who widow Brown was?
Jump in anytime.
Thanks
John Bristol
