I may have a clue for you. I have a copy of a will left by Ann/Anna Ruark of Lewis Co, dated 1865, that refers to her son David Pollitt. Ann Pollett (widow, maiden name unknown) married Jordan Ruark (widower) in 1832 in Lewis Co. Her will only mentions one Pollitt son. She also mentions two daughters, Polly Cropper and Lucinda Carrington. I'm not if they were the daughters of Jordan or Ann (by previous marriages). I just recently started researching the Ruarks of Lewis Co. Jordan and his first (or second?) wife are my direct ancestors.
