Hello Trish, Sorry to take so long getting back to you. Henrietta and Ernest marr.2Nov1879 in Manchester. I believe ErnestJr died in England. Henrietta (Hetty)d.20 feb 1942 and Ernest Sr. 17 June 1921 both in Bayonne NJ. 1920 census said they immigrated 1885 and were naturalised 1895.when they 1st arrived they lived at 2 Fleet St Jersey City NJ. Then by @ 1900 moved to Bayonne and remained there. Hetty was a nurse/midwife and I think Ernest was a machinist.I remember hearing that he worked in the "car barns". He described his father as a "gentleman" and was a barrister. I believe Hetty delivered my aunts and uncle. Their children were: Wilfred b.1881? d.?. James b.16 Mar 1882 d.30 Dec 1957 m.Mary Barlow. Elsie b.? d.22 Mar 1966 m. a Brady, then later m. Dan Mahoney. Bertha (Bert)b. 1894 d.15 Apr 1941. m Ben Mandone. Dorothy(Dolly)b.17 Aug 1897 d.11 Aug 1999! and marr. John P Browne, an undertaker, 2 Dec 1917. And twin Sarah (Sally)d. 2Feb1918 in flu epidemic. You told me of Ernest W. Must have been born 1880. According to 1910 census she had given birth to 8 children with 6 surviving. I don't know anything about an 8th child. He/she was probably born between James and Elsie - maybe before they came to the States? Dolly and John Browne had 3 girls and a boy. Dorothy, Marion, Patricia and John Jr. Marion is my mother. If you are interested I can give you dates etc. on this generation also and beyond. As far as I know Ernest and Hetty never got back to England. Also, I don't remember hearing of any relative that worked on the railroad. I've just recented discovered a little about Hetty's siblings (including Alfred, thanks to you). Do you have much on them? I have names and birth dates ( but not Alfred's) but no spouse names, children, occupations. Do you have their mother and father's dates etc. Also, Hetty's husband Ernest and his family are still a complete mystery to me. The lived in Manchester, went to NZ for what reason I don't know. Ernest was born in NZ and I was told he came back to England when he was 2. If you come across any more reference to him or his family would you let me know? I'll keep in touch with you as I remember more detail. Well, I'd better get back to work. Regards, Marion Notify Administrator about this message?
