I'm also related to the Polk family... don't have much yet. I think..from you DNA journey.. think.

m. 1790 NC Mary Shelby 1768-1840 [Rus m Mary Blair Shelby].
Their daughter Dicey Esther Polk b 1787 Gibralter, Jones CO NC m Francis Coburn b 1797 NC.
Their son Shelby P [Polk} Coburn b 10 Aug 1824 Lauderdale AL. Dicey dies & Francis m 2nd.

Dicey's parents: Thomas Polk 28 Feb 1757 Anson, NC-1842
m Mary Shelby 1768-1840.
