Mary F. Thurmond Deed
For 82 acres executed by B.J. Thurmond
Et.al. November 5, 1854
Registered February 22, 1855
Whereas by descent from the estate of Norvell T. Thurmond deceased, Mary F. Thurmond widow of the said deceased having a life estate in a tract of land on which she now lives, we James H. Thurmond and Benjamin J. Thurmond, Little B. Andrews and wife Martha A. Andrews having divided title to and now hold equal and undivided interests in said tract of land that the said Mary F. Thurmond holds a dower in the state of Tennessee, Maury County and District #10 and bounded as follows:
Beginning at an oak on Joseph Polk’s line running south 132 poles 20 links to Duck River thence up said river with its meanderings to Isaac White’s northwest corner thence with said White line to Green Lick thence up said creek with its meandering to divide it to Pete Joyce’s line n the said creek thence with said line 31 poles to Joyce’s northwest corner thence south with said Joyce’s line to Joseph Polk’s northeast corner – thence with said Polk’s north boundary line to the beginning containing by estimation eighty two acres three quarter twenty poles or the same more or less.Know we have bargained and sold and do hereby transfer and convey all our right and interest in land to said tract of land including the dower to the said Mary F. Thurmond and her heirs forever for the sum of 333 1/3 dollars to each of us paid.So have and to hold the same to Mary F. Thurmond her heirs and assigns forever and we do covenant and ____ forever ___ and our heirs andrepresentatives to warrant and defend the title to one undivided interest the said land against any claims to be made by any persons claiming through or under as to the lawful claim of all persons.
In testimony of which we have hereunto set our hands and affixed our seals this 5th day of November AD1854.
