Good morning, Lola:
Yes, you have identified my line quite nicely.I have collected scattered information all the way back to Robert Bruce Pollok. What I have learned recently at a Polk Reunion in Mason, Texas is that I have a fairly accurate record of my direct line, but I have little of the collateral lines surrounding it.
When I looked at Anderson, I was surprised to learn I had more than I expected on him.I have his three wives listed, along with 10 children.
I have Anderson Polk b 9-14-1824, d 9-15-1894 in Coryell County, Texas.Married Martha Martin and had Texana, Matilda, Thomas, and Prudence.Married Susan J. Langley b 1844 in North Carolina and had Almeda m Charles Cruger, Martha Ann Elizabeth m John Jefferson Bugg and later Phillip Preston Harvick. And Eliza Epperson m 12-21-1848 in Montgomery, Arkansas and had Jane, Sylvester, Henry and Sarah. That all I have on your Anderson. From what you tell me, I have my married order out of line...Susan J. Langley would have been his third?
I have over 1500 names in my work thus far.I would be delighted to share what I have so far, if you are interested.
Is this Lola Withrow (?spelling?)that I have often seen in these posts? If so, I have always been most impressed with your knowledge of the Polks and their genealogy.I look forward to hearing from you again.
