The Rev. Polhemus latinized his name when he graduated from the universiry so there is a good chance that anyone in the US with that name is a descendant. The 4 oldest children were born in Brazil. The wife did not come to America at the same time as he did. She was on a different ship that headed back to Holland. My line is through the son, Theordorus.
