Brosky Surname Shortened, Original Lost in Time
Is there any chance you might be connected with the John Andrew and Josephine Zofja (Gacek) O'Brosky family? He went by Andrew and she by Sophia. They came to America from Galicia, Hungary, Austria (Poland, sometimes Russia depending upon occupation). They have three sons born between 1900-1906, Andrew Joseph in Trenton, NJ; John in Smocks, PA, and Joseph in Uniontown, PA. There are other children I won't bother listing here, but they end up in Stewartsville, Powhatan, East Liverpool, Ohio. John and Joe will move to Steubenville, Ohio.
What makes my search difficult is the original John Andrew shortened his surname to Brosky and eventually added "O'" making O'Brosky. The original surname is lost in time. If anyone knows something helpful, I'd appreciate hearing from you.
Additional note: Joseph's second wife in Anna Mary (maiden name unknown). She brings a daughter, Elizabeth (went by Betty), to the union. Perhaps Betty is still living or her descendants, and they might have information.
