Hi Patti,
There are a couple of U.S. records that provide a hint of Gottlieb and Carl Mueller/Miller’s ancestral home.
Gottlieb Miller was born on October 24, 1892 in Russia Poland. He arrived in the U.S. on February 16, 1910 on board the S.S. Main and was listed on Ancestry.com as Gottlieb “Muller”.His destination was Milwaukee WI where he was going to join his brother-in-law August Miller. He listed his father Gottlieb in “Grorodicz” (could possibly be Grodziec) Kalisz as his nearest relative in his native land.
Additionally, there are WW I Draft Registration cards for both Gottlieb Miller and Carl Miller.
Carl was born on November 21, 1896.On his June 5, 1918 registration document, he listed his brother Gottlieb Miller, living at 611 Russell, as his nearest relative. He indicated that he was born in “Graudtz” Russia.
According to Gottlieb Miller’s WW I Draft Registration Card, he was born on October 24, 1892 in “Grodztz” Russia/Germany.On June 5, 1918, he was living with his wife and one child at 404 Pryor Avenue in Milwaukee.
There is an Index for Gottlieb Miller’s U.S. Naturalization. He was naturalized on July 10, 1917 in the Milwaukee Circuit Court. If you could get a copy of his Declaration of Intention, that document would indicate where he was born.
Good luck,
Norbert
