Hi Mary,
Happy to see the best specialists our forum friends Zlatica and Norbert have started their assistance in your search, for today the matter is still open, but maybe more closer, here is my BRAIN STORM~~ :)
~~ the first document giving the family origin located by you, Zlatica and Norbert is the ship manifest of SS George Washington, here of the mother Zuzanna - http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passRecord.asp?pID=104413130681http://www.ellisisland.org/search/passRecord.asp?pID=104413130681 - the family Kunior-Konior went from European port Bremen, and arrived to NY on March 19,1911, the place of family origin is given in three places: As POB - "Kunt"(spe), as LPR - "Kunt"(spe), as nearest relative in Poland/Russia - "mother/granmother Katarzyna Pietras Ku..t(spe) Kasi..cz(spe) GB Lublin Russia" - and this last one I can see as: village/settlement/town part "Kunt"(spe) Kazimierz Gubernia Lublin Russia, so, time to conclude work for today:
FAMILY NAME
Konior is phonetically given by ship agent/clerk as "Kunior" (as with many other immigrants), the KONIOR is popular here in Poland, according to Polish etymological works derived from Polish language and word "kon - kon~, koñ" (a horse) - meaning possible profession of the first Polish ancestor named Konior (horse trader, horse breeder, farmer), the KONIOR is very old and noted in Poland from the year 1600.
FAMILY PLACE/ORIGIN
Village/settlement/town part "Kunt"(spe) Kazimierz Gubernia Lublin Russia - I cannot fully decipher the first one, but the next words are giving me supposition that:
Kazmierz - is the town of KAZIMIERZ DOLNY - one of the most wellknown small towns in Poland, the capital of artists, located so beatifully on the Polish main river Wisla - Vistula, and this was the possible family ancestral capital of the county, here is the hyperlink to this Kazimierz giving more weblinks:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazimierz_Dolnyhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazimierz_Dolny
The rest place names are same as given by Zlatica and Norbert: Gub. is Russian Gubernia - voivodeship, the Lublin Russia - means the town of Lublin Russian voivodeship.

But what was the family ancestral village and parish?, after checking all places in this part of Poland I suppose the possible place could be: KUROW (Kuro~w, Kurów), here is the hyperlink:

The LDS has the microfilms from this parish Kurow from years 1810-1913: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetailsprint.asp?titleno=291335http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/printing/titledetailsprint.asp?titleno=291335

If not this Kurow near Kazimierz Dolny, I see from other Polish databases, and surname location in Poland, that the family Konior ancestral towns may be Opole Lubelskie, Bilgoraj, etc., and the family Pietras the towns of Chodel, Biskupice, etc.

Let's hope the next info obtained by you from the US databases (naturalization petition!) will confirm this Kurow, if you find other place please give us a sign, we will make next work trying to help you in discovering family invaluable family roots from Europe/Poland.
With the best good luck,
Tad
