The best way to send money to a Polish Archive is thru a bank wire transfer.I have done this 3 times and everything has worked out smoothly.
You can send your wire transfer through online banking,so you don't have to go to the bank.
You will need information from the bank in Poland that you're sending the money to.The Polish Archives will give you all the info you need. You'll need a "Swift Code" and the name of the Bank and most importantly, you'll need the bank account #.Most of the Polish Achives are extremely helpful. They want to help you.
Once you send the money via online banking, you can print and email the wire transfer to your contact at the Polish Archives so they can see you've transfered the $ from your acount to their account.
The bank transfer from your bank in North America to Poland can take from 14 to 21 business day...so be patient.
It's all worth the wait. Their records are much better than the LDS micro-film copies.
Once you've received your records via email, if you can't read the record, I have a contact in the USA who is a Russian/English teacher and would translate the record to English for a fee. You'd have to have a PayPal account.
This all sounds like a lot of work, but it is the most secure and safest way to get your money to the right people and in turn get the records you are looking for.
