Serdynski, back to emigration, can I go further?
Hi. My great grandfather and great grandmother emigrated here (USA, WI) in 1896. They left from Belgium and the Passenger list shows last residence was Tonows. On the passenger list his first name was Wojiech. In his Naturalization papers he signed his first name as Wojech, but the person filling out the papers used the name Walter. In US Census and his death certificate, his first name is Albert. I'm not sure why or how his name went from Walter to Albert. Is there any way to get info from Poland on either of them? Can I only go back as far as the emigration without actually traveling to Poland?
