Polish first name dilemma
I have a very distant relative that I'm having trouble knowing what his/her name was.
NY birth record shows possible spelling of Walisleper but is very hard to read. However, the death record has the name as Wadis?? the remaining part of the name unreadable.
The cemetery index card only has the letter W - child. The burial log book entry shows Wadiswavel - child.
My GGF and GGM did not read or write English so I'm guessing the names were entered phoenectically, but I cannot find any Polish name that fits. The birth and death occured in 1899 so perhaps it's a name no longer used.
I'm open to a best guess here as to the Polish name and American equivalent and well as gender.
Thanks
