Good Morning Jane:
I am not related to the Talarski/Talarsky family. As a volunteer with the Polish Genealogical Society of America I posted my query looking for help with the names of the villages to reply to a letter/inquiry we received from Joseph Talarski's grandson, Ray Talarsky of Milwaukie, OR
Mr. Talarsky did not include an e-mail address with his letter therefore I'm going to assume he is not on the Internet.I replied to his letter on August 24th andadvised Mr. Talarsky that I thought the name of the village, which he spelled Olesin, was Olszyny and the children may have been born in Chojniki.
He did not give us the name of Josef Talarski's parents. The only information he included in his letter was Josef was born about 1869, went into the (Russian) army at age 21, and met his wife Mariana Gorcryca (b. 1878) while in the army.Josef's family was from the parish of Baranowo, Ostroleka Co.He immigrated to Windber PA in 1904.
Did you find Josef Tq=alarski on the Ellis Island web site? Was it misspelled as you show it in your post? I would like to make a copy of the information you found and forward it to Mr. Talarsky.
I will send Mr. Talarsky a copy of your post and request his permission to pass on his home address and phone number.
Dell
