Hi dear Sande and all family in the US,

I see your so cordial message asking help, here is my search assistance from Poland: Seems this is a big challlenge to find their ancestral home and parish in Poland (giving you any chance to follow genealogical search with local church/civil books). Thanks of invaluable help of our genforum friends Mary and Norbert you have two place name in Poland "Niasanda", and "Newsanda", Austria/Poland - and in general words it means all South/East Poland and West Ukraine, but what place???? I can, for today, only give you my modest supposition:

There are not any place in Poland named "Niasanda" or "Newsanda", moreover, there are not any place with near spellings, but if George and Vera gave, after immigration, their beloved place of birth and childhood in pronounciation, this may be "New" as Polish "Nowy", and "Sanda" as Polish "Sacz" ; together, this may be very old Polish small town Nowy Sacz - the heart of Polish Gorals - Highlanders culture abd heritage, finally, here is this place with Polish Wikipedia, giving you much more weblinks:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nowy_S%C4%85cz

I've also checked the surname location in 2009 Poland, and found in this 2009 Nowy Sacz:

Poles surnamed Jurkowski - 28 (Twenty eight)
Poles surnamed Sokol - 3 (Danuta, Jan, and Zygmunt Sokol)
Polses surnamed Tomal - 1 (Joanna Tomal)
Poles surnamed Kierzkowski - 1 (Wanda Kierzkowska)

Let's hope this Nowy Sacz is the right one, then:
You can find their phone numbers with Polish phone dir: www.ksiazka-telefoniczna.com
You can find Wojciech (George) Jurkowski and Vera - (Weronika?) Tomal genealogical records with Salt Lake City LDS/genealogical microfilms from this Nowy Sacz: http://www.familysearch.org/Eng/Library/fhlcatalog/printing/topicdetailsprint.asp?subject=389821&first=1

Have a nice all next days, just in a few days we have very important for all Polish families the All Souls and All Saints day, when all Polish cemeteries are covered by family memorable million of flowers and lamps, and here is the example:

Good luck in your search and life,

Tad
