It has been a long time since I last posted here. Just kind of dipping my toes back into my family history. When I last left it, I was following my great grandmother's roots. Her name is Jozefa Lis by marriage, maiden name Nosal. She was born in Roza around 1890 and her parents were John Nosal and Sophie Cwik (from my great grandparents' wedding certificate). She came to the US in 1906 and settled in Chicago. I had a friend I met through the boards visit Roza recently and she sent me a photo of the cemetery, directly in front was a gravestone with the surname Cwik on it, but the given names were all covered in the photo by flowers. This, of course, peaks my interest. So my question: I'd like to learn more about this part of the bloodline, the Cwik surname, as I assume my ancestors go back many generations in this town. I also have to assume the Nosal line goes back in this town as well. Any insight into how I can trace it back further than John and Sophie? I'd like to try to learn about any family that they had, or any family that may still be in Roza. Thanks, Tom Notify Administrator about this message?
