I am researching for a friend the Polish origin of the name Hollick. Phillip P. Hollick was born in Warsaw, Poland in the year 1891. He came to the U.S. after spending some time in Winnipeg, Canada. He was in WWI in the U.S. Army and died in 1975 in Washington state. He changed his name to Hollick apparently after he came to the U.S. and before he entered the army. I would very much appreciate it if someone could shed some light on how he spelled his Polish surname or if anyone is researching this specific line. When I use a English to Polish translation I come up with Swieta (with a dot over the S and another symbol - like a slanted L under the E.) Again, any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
