Prof Tad,

Thank you very much for this help in possibly un-anglicizing my forefathers given names and surnames. One verbal family history clue I have to work on is that GGpa Maciej KASOWICZ or KASZOWICZ and Gpa Adam KASOWICZ or KASZOWICZ were both fluent in Slovak as this was the family language used at home in the USA. Is it plausible to consider that Slovak was the predominate or minority language spoken in villges in SE Poland, at the Slovakia and Ukraine borders when they were part of the Austrian-Hungarian Empire?

Best,

Fred
