My friend, Al Lariviere found his grandmother's obituary at home and in it was her name was spelled "Slobogan". She was born in Austria and lived in Blackstone, MA.
I apologize for any problems this may have caused and thank you for your efforts. The following information was included: Mrs. Basil Slobogan, died Jan. 30 1969. She was the widow of Basil Slobogan who died 2/7/ 1962. Born in Galicia, Austria 8/31/1880 she was the daughter of Joseph and Josephine (Zawatska) Rudnick. She came to the U.S. in 1906, and lived in East Blackstone, MA. for 15 years before moving to Woonsockett, R.I.. She was a member of the Woonsockett Lodge of the Polish National Alliance. She was survived by 3 daughters: Mrs. Rose Mary Lariviere, and Josephine wife of Victor Rivers, both of Woonsockett, and Mary, wife of Elmer Chandler of Redondo Beach, Calif. A sister Mrs. Louise Chita of Blackstone; 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.
Mr. and Mrs. Slobogan were married: 5/30/ 1910, in St. Stanislaus church. She's buried in cemetary of Polish National Catholic Church.
