Hi Tracey, According to the December 20, 1920 Ellis Island records for Chana, Schldime and Sure Waldman, their destination was 54 East 109th Street in New York (Manhattan) NY where they were going to join their brother Paul Waldman. There are 1920 and 1930 U.S. census records for the Paul Waldman family In 1920 they lived at 54 East 109th Street in New York (Manhattan County) NY. In 1930 they lived at 1938 82nd Street in Brooklyn (Kings County) NY Paul was born in Russia/Poland in 1894 (possibly 1/6/1893). He married Bella “Lazrofsfwitz” in 1915, presumably in New York (Manhattan County) NY. Bella was born between 1893 and 1896 in Russia/Poland. They had two children, both born in New York: Solomon born in 1916 and Lillian born in 1921. Paul immigrated to the U.S. between 1908 and 1913. He was naturalized a U.S. citizen between 1920 and 1930. In 1920 he was employed in his father-in-laws store. In 1930 he was a blocker in a millinery factory There is an Ellis Island record for a Peisech (could be Yiddish for Paul) Waldman who arrived at Ellis Island on February 15, 1913 on board the S.S. Volturno. His destination was 72-74 Lewis Street in New York where he was going to join his brother “Wojchi” Waldman. His ethnicity was Russia. Hebrew and his last place of residence was “Wengrow, Russia (probably should be Wegrow). His port of departure was Rotterdam and he was 18 years old and single when he arrived in the U.S. His nearest relative in his native land was his father ?athman Waldman. His occupation was listed as a tailor. The town of Wegrow is 44 miles ENE of Warsaw in the powiat of Wegrowki in the Province of Mazowieckie. There is small village about 11 kilometers from Wegrow called Korytnica (could this be your “Katarina”?). Best regards, Norbert Notify Administrator about this message?
