Christina Frederika Polack, born 22 Jan 1871, was born in Cape Girardeau, Missouri (also my hometown). Her eldest brother, also named Wilhelm Gustav Polack, is my Great-Great Grandfather (whom for simplicities sake I'll call Wilhelm II).Their father, the first Wilhelm Gustav(or Wilhelm I), was a Lutheran Minister. After immigrating to the United States around 1840, he was a minister in White Oak, Ohio (where Wilhelm II, their firstborn, was born in 1853) before moving to a church in Eagle Lake IL. After serving there he and his family moved to Cape Girardeau where he was a minister at Trinity Lutheran church. While living in Cape, Christina (the youngest)was born (I believe all of his other children where born in Illinois). Wilhelm II married in Cape in 1876 to a Emilie Tinapple, and remained there for the rest of his life. He and Emilie had 9 children, their youngest son, Edward August, is my Great- Grandfather. Wilhelm I and his family left Cape and moved on to another congregation, eventually ending up in Hermansberg, Kansas where he passed away in 1898. His wife, Maria Elizabetha, passed away in Meadow Grove, Nebraska, in 1920. One of Wilhelm I and Maria's children, Johanna Matilda, is said to have died in Sylvan Grove, KS.
A picture of Wilhelm I can be found at:

I would love a copy of any information on my family. I
can't speak/read German, but there are people in Cape who can, so it wouldn't he hard to find a translator. It wasn't that many years ago that some churches in Cape County still had occasional services in German.
