Gary,
YOUR Emmanuel Poirier was born at Havre-aux-Maisons on 19 Sep 1893 and married to Anne Mazerolle at Baie Ste-Anne, NB on 4 Feb 1918.He was son of the Emmanuel Poirier who married to Marie-Rose Cormier, that Lenny Gaudet listed in his answer.
[The other Emmanuel's (m to Cecile Theriault)children all
migrated to Abitibi, near the Ontario border. They did in fact have a twin son named Isaac born at the Magdalen Islands but who died before the 1901 census].
If your Emmanuel Poirier had a son of that name, he would have been born at Baie Ste-Anne, as I have no record of a child Isaac born to him and Anne at the Islands. His father Emmanuel (son of Benjamin & Felicite Arseneau) drowned on the shipwreck of the L'Esperance in 1893; he married at Havre-aux-Maisons on 8 Oct 1878 to MARIE-Rose CORMIER, daughter of Damase & Eugenie (Boudreau) Cormier.Benjamin Poirier and Felicite Arseneau married at Havre-aux-Maisons on 8 Jan 1844; he was the son of Jean Poirier & Anne Boudrot, and was born at Miquelon. His mother Anne Boudrot remarried Dominique Turbide after his father's death at Miquelon in 1791. Hope this clears up some discrepancies.Merry Christmas!Dennis Boudreau
