Aloha Kristine,
I am searching for family history and found this forum. This is amazing to me.You may have already found the info you were looking for, but here are a few more pieces that I received from my great Aunt.
Louis Bessette (born Aug. 26, 1855 and baptized in St. Cesaire)(m) Albina Amyot Roxton Pond January 29, 1877.Louis and Albina moved to North Grosvenordale, CT in 1897 and moved to Taftville, CT in 1902.They had 13 children including my granmother Emiliana, my great aunt Ernestine and my great aunt Rose Alba.I never met great aunt Rose Alba, but Ernestine writes that Rose Alba (b. March 23, 1882)married Joseph Poirier and had 8 children (Alfred, Louis Phillipe, Lillian, Lucille, Antoinette, Arsene, Theresa and George).Rose Alba d. June 3, 1962.Albina died December 17, 1920 at age 62 and Louis died July 16, 1945.
When Adelaide Bernier died, Louis Bessette went to the funeral in Canada and brought his father, Pierre Bessette to Taftville, Ct. to live, along with his sister, Cordelia Bessette (b. March 13, 1853, d. 1936).Pierre Bessette and Adelaide Bernier had a farm in Roxton Pond, PQ.(There is a note that Adelaide Bernier was Pierre Bessette's second wife. His first wife was Justine Lahaise.)It seems the marriages took place in St. Cesaire.
Albina Amyot Bessette was the daughter of Phillipe Amyot and Elamena Handfield. They had 7 children.
