Hello Anne,
I did a search for your grandmother at Ancestry.ca and found her in the 1911 census. She was born in September, 1895 and was living at Sea Cow Pond ( this is not far from Tignish) with her father Joseph who was born in October, 1872 and 2 sisters, Eva born in November 1902 and Mary born in May 1908. From this you can guess that Joseph's first wife died after 1908 and by the 1911 census he either hadn't remarried or maybe he had and his second wife had died already.
I know this doesn't throw a lot of light on your grandmother, but maybe you can get in touch with the Department of Vital Statistics on P.E.I. and ask if they can do a search for your great grandfather's marriage and that way you'll findo ut the name of his wife and the names of his and her parents.
My grandmother was a Perry from Tignish.
I could try sending you the page from the 1911 census that has your grandmother on it.
Good luck and if you have any more question you think I can answer please feel free to ask.
Brian Doucette
