Susan POYNTS b. bef. c1660, poss. VA links to John MOODY
searching for the "sister Susan POYNTS" who was mentioned in John MOODY's will of VA (not sure where in VA but I think he at one time lived in or near Richmond, VA).
John Moody was married to Rebecca _____ (perhaps nee POYNTS/Points??) and apparently John left Admin. to "Susan POYNTS, the sister of the relict, Rebecca Moody, during her absence." dated Sept. 1681, which is quite early. I am trying to find out more information on this MOODY family to see if they have any connections whatsoever to the early James and Robert MOODY of the Staunton, Augusta Co., VA area of the early 1700's, who were said to have come from Nor. Ireland to PA and then to VA.Who were this James and Robert MOODY's father? Was he by any chance linked to the
Thomas MOODY line (b.c1710 in/of Aghadowey, Co. L'derry, Nor. Ire.) who came to New Castle, PA/DE in Aug. 1735 with Robert McQuiston/McCuiston and many others? This Thomas Moody left PA and eventually settled in Guilford Co., NC.
His 1st wife was Jean McQuiston/McCuiston.
Or could James and Robert be part of the Robert MoodEy, Esq. line (last name spelled that way), whose son John was Rev. John MOODEY of the Shippensburg area of PA who married into the Crawford family?
Or could he be part of the MOODY family who came from Co. Donegal, Nor. Ireland who also settled in PA but in the southwestern part of the state...I think their line goes back to a James Moody who served in Ritchie's Rangers in PA, but again, I'm not 100% certain of that.
Just wondering if anyone here with any knowledge of the POYNTS/Points connection to this John MOODY of VA might have a bit more info from their research that they would be willing to share in hopes that it might help me out with the Moody link.
Thank you for anything at all.
