Names of Poindexters buried in Egypt Cemetary, Tyler County, Texas, near Woodville, Texas.
Found Samuel, Rebeca (spelled this way on headstone), A. J. and Charlie F. Poindexter buried here.
Samuel Poindexter (b. 3/4/1814; d. 1/18/1869)
Rebeca Poindexter (b. 4/11/1818; d. either March or May/20/1884 -- will have to rub to clarify)
A. J. Poindexter (b. 11/6/1840 d. 9/2/1917 -- headstone shows Nov. not Oct. -- if you can clarify, please let me know)
Charlie F. Poindexter (b. 4/15/1869 d. 7/19/1914)
Charlie F. married Marsie J. (b. 3/19/1875 d. 10/16/1954)
Their children:
Zelma (b. 8/11/1901 d. 1/7/1903)
Baby Poindexter (no date or name)
Carroll Poindexter (b. 12/24/1914 d. 7/3/1945) (twin of Charlie)
Charlie Poindexter (b. 12/24/1914 d. 4/29/1950)
There is an A. J. Poindexter listed on the Texas 9th Infantry, Confederate States Army roster as having served in Civil War.
