We have lineage and it is as accurate as we can get it. It is my line also. Thomas is the son of Thomas who is the son of Thomas who is the son of George the immigrant. Are only problem is both George I and George II are immigrants. Right now the Poindexter Association is holding with George I. AS to dates they differ a bit as some had a problem copying hand written material as letters and numbers tended to look different then than they do now.
As to Pledge Elizabeth is the son of William Pledge and Elizabeth Donahoo. We cannot go behind this William nor prove the Donahoo as a Cherokee at this time.William Pledge was a trader and may have been married twice.
Family stories say Elizabeth Donahoo or Donaha was daughter of Donahoo but we have no proofs.
I had been told that Elizabeth Pledge who married Thomas Poindexter went to Cherokee county after his death. She had children there, others say she is buried with him on Poindexter property.I have been to this site. This is a work in progress as we search for records that valiadate what we know.
