Several researchers were looking for info on Nancy Jim Whitlock Poindexter's ancestry. She was the wife of William Anders Poindexter. I am aware that others may already have this info, but just in case they don't, I'll post what I know.
Nancy Jim Whitlock was born in Lynchburg, Lincoln Co., TN (later Moore Co.).
Her parents were Mary Elizabeth Smith b. 15 May 1841 Franklin Co., TN and James M. Whitlock b. abt. 1835 Lincoln Co., TN d. (poss. 2 Feb 1863).
James Whitlock's parents were Rolen/Rowland Whitlock b. abt. 1805 Surry Co., NC d. abt. 1850 Lincoln Co., TN and Mary [--?--}.
Mary Elizabeth's parents were Joseph C. Smith, b. 11 Feb. 1813 in Franklin Co., TN, d. 12 Feb 1900 Parker Co., TX and Susie Winnie Adkins b. 1 Apr 1818 Lincoln Co., TN d. 30 Mar 1903 Parker Co., TX.
I was able to find this information after I received a copy of her death certificate. They are pretty easy to trace from this.
I am not a descendant...I'm helping a cousin.
