I have just started researching the Pohlman branch of my family, and in documents that I have it is spelled Pohlman, Pohlmann and Poehlman. My gggrandfather was born in Baiern, Germany, but I have no other information on him. His name was also John Pohlman. His son was John Christian Pohlman. I do know that he was married in 1871 to Mary Catherine Christiansen.
