POLLMANN, POLLMAN, POHLMAN ?
Dose any one find a connection between these spellings of the name ? Our Pollmann family started in the USA with John Ferderick Pollmann, migrated from Bremen Germany in 1873, located in the Lafayette IN. area (asuming with other family members)All three ways of the spelling are very popular in that town expecially in the German Lutheren community.I am wondering if it is the case of Americans not knowing how to spell German language.
