I have some information on Edmund D. W. Pogue who M. Mallie Ladd Beardslee - have information about them once they were in Chicago, IL. In 1900 they lived in the fashionable Hyde Park Hotel in the Hyde Park area of Chicago. The eventful Chicago Columbian Exposition (World's Fair) of 1893 had been held in this area, and the University of Chicago had been founded there by John D. Rockefeller.
Edmund D. W. Pogue was a a very successful grain merchant/broker with the firm Bartlett, Patten, & Co. and held a seat on the Chicago Board of Trade (admitted 1909).
His last home is still standing at 2146 Orrington, Evanston, IL. After Edmund D. W. Pogue's death (sometime in the 1920s) Mallie's father, Israel (?) Beardslee came to live, and presumably die, at her home in Evanston.
