I have been researching your branch of the Pogue family because I know of three Pogue siblings, two girls and a boy, who I believe are the children of Howell Pogue. One of these children, Lucinda Pogue b.1832 in TN, raised my husband's great grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Roberts in Pineville, MO.
TN 1830 Greene Co Census shows Howell Pogue with two children.
1 m >5, 1 m 20-30 1 f >5, 1 f 20-30
TN 1840 Census at http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/tn/greene/census/1840/pg75.txt
shows three male children and three female children. I believe that Lucinda, Henryetta and William are three of these children.

This breaks down to:
Males 1 under 5, 1 between 5 and 10, 1 between 15 and 20, 1 between 30 and 40
Females 1 under 5, 1 between 5 and 10, 1 between 15 and 20, 1 between 20 and 30
My search has turned up some interesting stories. I have seen, on microfilm, the document declaring Howell Pogue unable to care for his own affairs. Lucinda Pogue was also given charge of her sister, Henryetta.
